The difference between the left and the center is that the center wants to fix the same problems as the left, without challenging the existing power structure. This has worked for a while in terms of being able to “get things done” (a favorite refrain of centrists) since the 1% is not threatened by them and does not oppose them openly. But we are in a moment where the biggest problems facing society are caused by the power structure. It must be challenged. And centrists are losing their minds over that thought.
