Oh dang. The Klob actually dropped out of the race before Super Tuesday.
Obviously the Democratic establishment sees Bernie as a formidable threat and the lesser candidates are now playing their roles to stop his candidacy.
All eyes are on Elizabeth Warren and Michael Bloomberg at this point. I don’t expect we see Bloomberg drop out when he’s thrown so much of his own money at this race and doesn’t get his first chance to “earn” delegates until tomorrow, which means that he will siphon off of Biden’s potential lead.
I’m more focused on Warren now. If she believes in the greater good for the progressive movement, the best thing she can do at this moment is cancel out some of Buttigieg’s and Klobuchar’s effects by also dropping out and endorsing Bernie. The numbers don’t show her to have a realistic path forward, even just in beating Bloomberg. The only role she can play by staying in this race is as a progressive spoiler. I would be saying the same thing about Bernie at this point if their numbers were reversed. We need a progressive nominee, whether it’s full-blown Democratic Socialist like Bernie, or Progressive-lite self-identified capitalist like Liz.
But back to Amy Klobuchar. I can’t believe she’s lasted this long, beyond more compelling, charming, thoughtful, and articulate candidates like Cory Booker, Tom Steyer, and Kamala Harris. Who were her base, that were inspired by the blandest, most Karen politician that the Presidential debates have ever seen? Every time she was asked why she should be President the only things she had to say were that she’s a winner and gets things done, and that she’s not going to promise bold new changes like Liz and Bernie. Wow. She’s just a Midwest Biden, offering nothing but the status quo along with jokes infused with two heaping scoops of corn.
She should have known she wasn’t cut out for President when Pete got her shook on stage over her Mexico goof. Look at this and tell me Trump wouldn’t upset her worse when he’s being less fair than Pete:
Her whole campaign can be boiled down to a bumper sticker she sold in her campaign store. Can you imagine being the kind of schmuck that would pay real money for this thing and proudly display it on your car for the world to see? Check this out; I promise it’s legit:

Good riddance.
